Vacancies
are published in The NCAA News and placed on NCAA Fax-on Demand System.
In addition, Sharon Tufano, NCAA committee coordinator, will e-mail
all committee vacancies to Ted Breidenthal at the Association's headquarters
office in Kansas City. |

Nominations
are submitted in writing and are received in the NCAA national office
and compiled by the committee coordinator. Self-nominations, nominations
by peers or committees are accepted. Nominations are active for two
years and can be updated at any time. In the Fall of 2003, the
NCAA unveiled an on-line committee nomination system.

Nominee
Information Form is faxed to nominee and must be returned by deadline. |

4. |
Summary
of nominees and copies of Nominee Information Forms are forwarded
to the Division III Nominating Committee for review in February and
September. The Nominating Committee forwards its recommendations for
appointments to the appropriate appointing body. The nominations for
Division III General Committees and Division III Representatives to
Association-wide Committees are forwarded to the Management Council
before being sent to the Presidents Council for ratification. Nominations
for Sports Committees and Sports Rules Committees are forwarded to
the Championships Committee, before going to the Management Council
for approval and the Presidents Council for ratification. |

Appointees
are notified by the committee coordinator and are provided with copies
of the NCAA Travel Handbook, Instructions to Members of NCAA Committees
and the Committee Appointment Acceptance Form. |
