Several commissioners have asked to receive the survey ASAP, so a working copy and cover memos are enclosed, although I did not include that in the NADIIIAA posting. The presidential mailing started yesterday, with the related mailing likely starting today. Web versions of all this should be posted soon.

Subject: Division III Membership Survey--UpdateGreetings.
As most of you know, the membership will soon receive hard copies of the DIII Membership Survey by mail.
There are two versions of the survey that will be distributed to the campuses. First, there is an Official Copy that will go to campus Chancellors and Presidents. Due to the distribution procedures this version will likely arrive on campuses first. Within a day or so Working Copies of the survey will arrive by mail to other campus constituents including the Athletic Directors, Administrator to whom the AD reports (if this is not the CEO), Senior Women Administrator, Faculty Athletics Representative, and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Liaison. Conference Commissioners will be included in that mailing. The working copies are to facilitate the review and formulation of the campus response. Only the official copy is to be submitted.
A pdf version of the working copy of the survey and related cover memos will be posted as soon as possible on the Division III Working Group’s website:
This survey is a critically important instrument to help guide the membership as we look to the future. Over 30 reviewers, including DIII delegates who spoke on the convention floor, members of the DIII Working Group, NCAA Membership Committee, the NCAA Association-wide Research Committee, and the Data Analysis Research Network (an outside group of consultants) offered comments and suggestions on the survey. We offer them our thanks as we move forward.
With your support and participation this survey will help to better inform the discussions still to come. If you have any questions regarding the survey procedures please contact Eric Hartung or Mike Miranda at the NCAA national office.
