NEW JERSEY CITY TO HOST INDEPENDENTS'
MEN'S SOCCER REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
JERSEY CITY, NJ… New Jersey City University will host the inaugural Association of Division III Independents Men's Soccer Northeast Championships October 30-31. The event will be held at NJCU's Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field on Route 440 South. Game times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.
NJCU (10-7), the No. 1 seed in the tournament, will square off with the No. 4 seed, Mitchell College, New London, CT, in the first semifinal game Saturday. Mitchell's record is 6-9-1.
In the afternoon semifinal contest, the No. 2-seeded St. Joseph's College (Maine) will face the No. 3 seed Green Mountain College of Poultney, VT. Green Mountain is 7-9, while St. Joseph's, from Standish, ME, are 6-10-1.
The championship game will be played at 1 p.m. Sunday, preceded by an 11 a.m. consolation contest.
