KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Colorado College junior forward Paige Whitney (Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Whitney helped Colorado College post a 2-1 record for the week as the Tigers competed at the California Lutheran Posada Royale Tournament in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Whitney averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting .528 from the floor in leading her team to a 1-1 tournament record. She posted a game-high 25 points and had nine rebounds in a 68-61 loss to Chapman University and tallied 19 points and 13 boards in a 71-53 win over Haverford College. Capping the road trip, Whitney scored 18 points and recorded a career-high 16 rebounds in a 71-63 come-from-behind victory at Pomona-Pitzer College. On the week, she averaged 20.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.
