Harrington earns second consecutive Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Vermont College senior forward Nick Harrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. In two games on the week, Harrington averaged a double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds per game, respectively. In a 98-94 win over St. Joseph’s College (Vt.), Harrington netted 24 points and grabbed 20 boards and also added five steals, five assists and three blocks. To cap the week, he tallied 28 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In the loss, he shot 12-for-18 from the field (67%).

 

Jones named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Salem College sophomore forward Casey Jones (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Jones averaged 16 points and 15 rebounds as Salem competed at the Piedmont Baptist College Basketball Classic. She was named tournament MVP after helping lead the Spirits to the championship trophy. En route to the championship, Salem defeated Trinity Baptist, 122-43, and host school Piedmont, 87-48.
