Harrington earns fourth consecutive Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Vermont College senior forward Nick Harrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) continues his domination and is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week once again. In two games, Harrington averaged 34.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting over 67% from the field. Against defending National Champion Amherst College, he put up 35 points and eight rebounds, shooting 65% from the floor and 90% from the free-throw stripe. In the second game versus Western Connecticut, he netted 34 points and grabbed seven rebound, shooting 70% from the floor.

 

Austin named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – College of New Rochelle senior center Ruchelle Austin (Sheepshead Bay, N.Y.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Austin compiled a pair of double-doubles on the week as she averaged 17.5 points, 21 rebounds, 3.5 steals and two blocked shots per game. She scored 11 points and added 10 rebounds in a loss to Merchant Marine for her 10th double-double of the year and followed that performance with 24 points, a career-high 32 boards and seven steals in an 83-46 loss to Polytechnic.
