Gordon earns Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Finlandia University junior guard Tyler Gordon (Red Cliff, Wis.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. Gordon led his team to a pair of wins last week with averages of 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game. He shot 83.3% from the charity stripe on the week (10-of-12), 8-of-10 of them coming in a 25-point, seven steal effort.

Riutta named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

Finlandia University junior forward Jodi Riutta (Houghton, Mich.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Riutta averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in two Lion victories on the week. She shot 51.6% from the floor overall and recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, respectively, in her second game.
