Brodman earns Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Colorado College sophomore guard Nate Brodman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. Brodman set a school record with 11 three-point baskets to lead the Tigers to a 104-93 victory over Johnson & Wales University. In the game, he buried 11-of-15 attempts from behind the arc and was perfect from the free throw line on 11 attempts, giving him a career-high 44 points. His 11 three-pointers ties him for second in Division III this year and his 44 points ranks 13th. In just under two seasons, Brodman became the 10th player in CC history to record 100 or more three-pointers, as he had 114 following the game. Additionally, he chipped in 22 points in a 73-71 loss to Colorado Christian University earlier in the week. Brodman averaged 33 points, 3.5 rebounds and two assists per contest on the week. He shot 60 percent from the field (18-of-30), 68 percent from three-point range (15-of-22) and 100 percent from the line (15-of-15). |

Gaynor named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of California-Santa Cruz senior forward Megan Gaynor (Sonoma, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. UCSC defeated a pair of Independent foes this weekend, as they topped the University of Dallas, 63-57, and Colorado College, 61-58. Gaynor averaged 20 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 56 percent from the field and 80 percent from the charity stripe. She recorded a double-double against UD with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists and she followed that performance with 28 points and eight boards against Colorado College. |
