Myrick named Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lincoln University ( Pa.) senior guard Kyle Myrick ( Philadelphia, Pa.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. Myrick helped Lincoln win its fifth consecutive game, 126-85, over Delaware Valley College last Thursday. For the game, he scored 37 points on 14-28 shooting and handed out a career-high and school record 20 assists. The 20 assists are a single-game high for a Div. III player this season. Lincoln is ranked No. 22 in Div. III with an overall record of 19-4. Myrick, who is coached by Garfield Yuille, leads the nation in scoring at 31.3 points per game and he is fourth in assists.

 

Atkinson receives Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lincoln University (Pa.) sophomore forward Asha Atkinson (Deptford, N.J.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. During a 1-1 week, Atkinson averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds per game. In a 75-65 overtime win over Wilkes University, she scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. She then added 12 points and 14 boards in a 56-49 loss to Bryn Mawr College. Atkinson, who is coached by Andy Haman, has recorded four consecutive double-doubles and seven total for the season.
