Fisher named Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Green Mountain College junior guard Adam Fisher (Miami, Fla.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Adam led the team to a 1-1 week, including the team’s first win of the season. In the win over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Fisher recorded a triple double with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. He was 8-19 from the field and 8-9 from the free throw line. Against Mitchell College, he recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists. He finished 6-7 from the field and 4-5 from the charity stripe. On the week, he averaged 20.5 points, eight rebounds, 10.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He also shot 14-26 from the floor and 12-14 from the foul line. Fisher is coached by Todd Montana.

Beasley receives Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – University of Maine-Presque Isle senior forward Sarah Beasley (Houlton, Maine) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Beasley recorded two double-doubles on the week and averaged 16 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. In a win over St. Joe’s (VT), she tallied 13 points and a season-high 19 boards. In another victory over Lyndon State, she posted 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
