Ekmark earns Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas junior forward Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. After three games, Ekmark averaged 16.0 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.3 steals per contest. He performed at a 52.7% shooting clip from the floor (19-of-36) and eclipsed that mark with a 57.1% average from beyond the arc (4-of-7). He led is team in rebounds with 38 overall and added six blocks and four assists.

 

Osley named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mount Mary College sophomore point guard Jordan Osley (Milwaukee, Wis.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Osley led her squad in scoring in three games on the week, averaging 31.0 points and 9.3 rebounds. She produced a pair of double-doubles, including a 32-point, 11-rebound performance in a narrow loss to Marian and a 38-point, 10-rebound effort in a victory over Kuyper. She also added five and six assists, respectively.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 1, 2008 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
