Mitchell earns Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Newbury College senior guard Arch Mitchell (Framingham, Mass.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. Mitchell averaged 19 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in helping his team go 3-0 on the week. He also shot 51.2% from the floor (22-of-43). In a 68-55 win over Wheelock College, he poured in 17 points, five rebounds and connected on 3-of-4 three-pointers. He scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 68-67 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology and he capped the week with a 23-point, five-rebound performance on senior night as the Nighthawks defeated Mitchell College 84-72.

Tincknell named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Finlandia University sophomore forward Ally Tincknell (Negaunee, Mich.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. Tincknell led her team to a pair of victories on the week including wins over Northland College and Northland Baptist Bible College. In the first game, she tallied 29 points on 13-of-17 shooting and she also grabbed 12 rebounds. In the second game, she posted 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting and also compiled six rebounds and three steals. On the week, she shot 71% from the field.
