Pulkkinen earns second consecutive Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) guard Chad Pulkkinen (Windham, Maine) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. In a 2-1 week, Pulkkinen averaged 15 points and three assists per game. The guard became the 28th player in St. Joseph’s history to reach the 1,000-point milestone in a 99-82 win over Maine-Fort Kent.

Cornelius named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Meredith College freshman guard/forward Brittany Cornelius (Rockwell, N.C.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Cornelius grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds against Averett University on Feb. 13 and also added 25 points and four assists for her second double-double on the year. On Feb. 15 against Salem College, she scored 15 points and snagged eight boards. She finished the week with 13 points and five rebounds against Newport News Apprentice. For the week, she averaged 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Cornelius averages 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds on the season.
