MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JARETT KEARSE
Lincoln University
Senior | Forward | Philadelphia, PA / Simon Gratz HS

Lincoln University senior forward Jarett Kearse had the best week of any player in the country, and is the logical choice for Association of Division III Independents Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row. He also was tabbed as the ECAC Division III South Player of the Week and to the D3Hoops.com National Team of the Week. Lincoln is 18-5 overall, and have won seven straight and 11 of 12.

All Kearse did last week was average 30.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 40-of-93 from the field (.430), 20-of-54 from three-point range (.370), and 20-of-26 from the line (.769). Oh yeah—he also scored a school record 54 points in a 101-83 win over Hood College on February 12. In that amazing effort, Kearse made 16 field goals (16-28, .571), and 10 three-pointers (10-19, .526), while scoring 12 from the line (12-16), adding nine rebounds, and four assists.

In other games, he scored 23 points (7-21) with five threes, seven rebounds and seven assists in an 84-62 victory over Cabrini on February 12. He had 24 points on 10-of-24, with 10 rebounds in a 73-70 victory over Wilkes University on February 7. The 6-7 senior forward had one “off night.” In a February 9, 76-58 win against Wilmington, he was “limited” to 19 points (7-20), eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.

The Lions have been awarded Player of the Week honors four times this season.
