McGowan earns Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman shortstop Andrew McGowan (Lincoln, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. McGowan went 5-for-12 at the plate (.417) in his first three collegiate games with three runs scored, two doubles and a pair of runs batted in. He was also perfect in 11 fielding chances as NWU went 2-1 to start the season. McGowan is coached by Bill Fagler. |

Wurdeman named Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman outfielder/designated player Terrin Wurdeman (Seward, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. In the first two collegiate games of her career, Wurdeman went 6-for-7 at the plate (.857) with a walk, three runs scored, four doubles and six runs batted in as Nebraska Wesleyan blanked Westminster College (Mo.) 8-0 and 9-0 on March 11. After just one run was scored in the first five innings of the opener, Wurdeman broke open the game with a two-run double down the left field line. Wurdeman’s slugging percentage was 1.429 in the sweep. NWU is now 2-0.
