Davidson named AD3I baseball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) senior third baseman/pitcher Chris Davidson (San Carlos, Calif.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Davidson helped his team to a pair of wins on the week, highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance in a 19-4 win over Emerson, where he had nine RBI and a grand slam. He also grabbed the win on the mound by pitching 5.0 innings and allowing just three earned runs. For the week, Davidson tallied a .579 batting average (11-for-19), a .789 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage. He also produced 11 RBI, four runs scored and a steal. He is now on a seven-game hitting streak.

 

Chiaramonte selected as AD3I softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) sophomore pitcher/outfielder Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Chiaramonte led the Lady Bears to a 4-0 record on the week as she collected a .727 batting average (8-for-11), a .727 slugging percentage and a .769 on-base percentage. She scored seven runs and recorded six RBI and two stolen bases. On the mound, Chiaramonte tossed 9.0 scoreless innings on her way to a pair of wins and 20 strikeouts.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
