Josh Replogle is the Association of Division III Independents Baseball Player of the Week after batting .522 (12-23), with three homeruns, three doubles, 14 RBIs, 24 total bases, and a 1.043 slugging percentage in a 4-2 week for Nebraska Wesleyan University (9-5) in a six game tournament at Dallas, TX. In game two of a doubleheader with Paul Quinn College on March 16, he went 3-for-4 with two homeruns, two runs, and drove in seven of the Prairie Wolves nine runs. In that 9-5 win, he hit a grand slam and drove in the winning run. In the opening game of the twinbill, he was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, two doubles, and two runs, as NWU prevailed 19-10. He finished the two-game tilt with 10 RBIs while going 5-for-8. A day after notching 10 RBIs, he added four more, while going 4-for-4 with a homer and two runs, in an 8-3 victory against the University of Dallas. Replogle was also 3-for-5 in an 8-4 win over Hamline.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Freshman left-handed pitcher George Jessen is the first Association of Division III Independents Baseball Pitcher of the Week this season as NJCU (5-7) went 3-0 overall. He was also selected as the City University of New York Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. In game one of a doubleheader that was only scheduled for seven innings, Jessen was brilliant on the mound in an 8-1 nine-inning win at Lincoln University on March 19, as he registered his first collegiate victory. In a complete game, nine-inning effort, he allowed one earne d run and scattered three hits, including two singles, while striking out six and walking three. The southpaw is 1-1 overall and has a 4.05 ERA this season in a team-high 20.0 innings.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jill Jeranko is the Association of Division III Independents Softball Player of the Week as the nationally No. 4 ranked Panthers went 9-0, to improve to 25-3 overall, with prominent wins over #1 ranked St. Thomas (MN) and #10 Linfield College. In the perfect week for the 2004 West Region Champions, the shortstop batted .452 (14-31) with 10 RBIs, eight runs, two homeruns, a triple, four doubles, and 26 total bases, with a .839 slugging rate. She also made just one error in 37 chances (.974).

Jeranko hit for the cycle (4-4) and scored three times in a 10-0 win over Rhode Island College on March 14. In a 14-0 shutout of Plattsburgh State on March 15, she drove in four RBIs and scored twice, going 2-for-4 with two doubles. She tallied four RBIs, with her sixth homer of the year, while batting 2-for-5 in a 10-7 decision against George Fox on March 18. She was 2-for-4 in a 1-0, eight-inning win over Linfield on March 20. Chapman is riding a 16-game winning streak.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MAGGIE WILDER

Sophomore | Pitcher | Bakersfield, CA/Stockdale HS

Maggie Wilder is the Association of Division III Independents Softball Pitcher of the Week as the nationally No. 4 ranked Panthers went 9-0, to improve to 25-3 overall, and extended its winning streak to 16 games. She was 3-0 on the mound in four games and added a save, posting a mere 0.30 ERA, with 18 strikeouts and just four walks in 23 innings of work. She threw three completed games and logged two shutouts.

In a 14-0 win over Plattsburgh State on March 15, she fanned six and scattered four hits in five innings. She registered a save while tossing three perfect innings of relief on March 17 in a 6-3 victory over Pacific (OR), striking out two. The next day, she amassed seven strikeouts, walked one, and allowed just two hits and one earned run in a complete-game, 5-1 win over Puget Sound. In her most impressive win of the week, she hurled an extra-inning shutout—her second shutout victory over a Top 10-ranked school this season—as Chapman edged #10 Linfield College, 1-0, in eight innings. In that win, she tossed a complete game one-hitter, with three strikeouts and two walks.

Overall, Wilder has won six straight decisions to improve to 8-1 on the year with a team-best 0.52 ERA.
