Juricich named AD3I baseball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) senior pitcher/outfielder Keith Juricich (San Mateo, Calif.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Juricich pitched a complete game, two-hitter in a 5-1 victory over Maine-Presque Isle on Saturday. He improved to 1-0 on the season in his first start and tossed 7.0 innings, compiling a career-high eight strikeouts and walking none. His only run was unearned, giving him a perfect 0.00 ERA in 12 innings of work on the season.

 

Thomas selected as AD3I softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas senior pitcher/infielder Whitney Thomas (Fort Worth, Texas) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. In three games, Thomas went 2-for-5 at the plate (.400) with two doubles, a run scored and a pair of RBI. She also added two wins on the mound. In 11 innings, Thomas gave up just one earned run while surrendering three hits and four walks. She struck out six on the week and improves to 5-5 on the year.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
