Wittmaack selected as AD3I softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior pitcher Alysia Wittmaack (Lincoln, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Wittmaack went 3-0 on the week and also picked up a save as Nebraska Wesleyan was 4-2 on the week, including 3-1 in conference play. In a sweep over Dordt, Wittmaack got the victory in both games allowing just one earned run in 9 1/3 innings, while scattering six hits. She struck out 22 batters for the week in 20 2/3 innings and walked only one. Her weekly ERA was 0.68.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
