Burrola named Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (Maine) sophomore pitcher Gabrielle Burrola (Gallup, N.M.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Burrola picked up three wins this week as the Monks went 4-3. She struck out eight and allowed just six hits with a walk in a 4-2 win over Plymouth and had an 8-0, one-hit shutout over Maine Maritime with 13 strikeouts. Burrola also earned a 5-0, shutout victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle, allowing just seven hits and one walk and recording seven strikeouts.

 

All Players of the Week for All Sports

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 11, 2006 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
