Farris named AD3I baseball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas freshman outfielder Adam Farris (Flower Mound, Texas) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. In a pair of games, Farris went 4-for-7 at the plate for a .571 batting average. His week was highlighted by a triple and a home run, giving him a 1.286 slugging percentage. He also chipped in three runs and four RBI.

 

Chiaramonte selected as AD3I softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) sophomore pitcher/outfielder Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Chiaramonte led the Lady Bears to six wins on the week, compiling a 4-0 record in the circle with a 0.88 ERA. She struck out 37 and walked none in 24.0 innings of work, including a one-hit shutout over Sarah Lawrence and a two-hit shutout over Brooklyn College. Chiaramonte also performed at the plate as she paced her team with a .583 average (14-for-24) and a .792 slugging percentage. She added nine RBI and eight runs scored on the week and she is currently on a 17-game hitting streak.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
