Bellinger receives Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Finlandia University freshman first baseman Jamie Bellinger ( Coleman, Mich.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Finlandia went 3-1 last week, earning one win against NAIA Cardinal Stritch University and grabbing two from NCAA Div. III Independent Mount Mary College. On the week, Bellinger went 9-for-13 (.692) at the plate, including three doubles, five RBI, eight runs scored, and one stolen base. The Lions, who are coached by Steve Lishinski, improve to 8-19 overall.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 12, 2005 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
