Langone named Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) freshman first baseman Anthony Langone (Staten Island, N.Y.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Langone led the Bears offensively last week by batting .500 (7-for-14) and obtaining a .643 slugging percentage and a .611 on-base percentage. He scored five runs on the week and hit two doubles in a 3-for-3 effort in a loss to Newbury.

 

Coppens selected as Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Finlandia University freshman pitcher Tiffany Coppens (Placentia, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. In two games, Coppens pitched eight innings of scoreless softball including a five-inning perfect game. In the perfect game, she struck out seven and went 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI. She totaled 13 strike outs on the week and allowed just one hit as she claimed both victories.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 1, 2008 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
