Cuba receives Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas sophomore Angela Cuba (Holliday, Texas) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week. Cuba ran a 24:20 6K on her way to a third place finish at the University of Texas-Tyler Invitational in Tyler, Texas. Her finish was out of 58 total competitors and the team took fourth place out of eight teams.

Brown earns Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas junior midfielder Stuart Brown (Boerne, Texas) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Brown scored a trio of goals and added an assist in two wins on the week. He netted a pair of goals and provided an assist in a 4-1 victory over LeTourneau University and he came up with a goal in a 2-1 win over Hendrix College. With the wins, Dallas improves to 2-0-1 on the season.

Thomsen named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior libero Linsey Thomsen (Beatrice, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Thomsen averaged 6.8 digs and 0.44 service aces per game and earned All-Tournament honors at the Gustavus Adolphus Volleyball Classic played Sept. 9-10 in St. Peter, Minn. Thomsen’s back-row play helped the Prairie Wolves win five-set matches against Gustavus Adolphus and the College of St. Benedict, who were both receiving votes in the CSTV/AVCA Div. III Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll. NWU’s only loss of the tournament came to undefeated Carleton College. NWU is now 6-2 overall after going 3-1 last week.
