Timblin named Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Greg Timblin ( Greenwood, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week. Timblin placed 29th overall at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational held on Sept. 16 at Pioneers Park in Lincoln, Neb. His time of 27:14.65 was first on NWU's team, which placed second in the College Division and fourth overall, ahead of several NCAA Div. II teams, including No. 24 ranked Central Missouri State University. The Prairie Wolves are ranked sixth in the Div. III preseason poll and are coached by Dr. Ted Bulling.


Hubbard receives Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Brittany Hubbard ( Gering, Neb.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week. Hubbard placed second in the College Division and 13th overall at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational held on Sept. 16 at Pioneers Park in Lincoln, Neb. Her time was 23:21.25, and she helped the NWU women place second in the College Division and fourth overall as a team. The Prairie Wolves finished ahead of several NCAA Div. I and II programs, including Colorado School of Mines, which was ranked No. 17 in the preseason poll for Division II. The NWU women are ranked No. 10 in Division III under head coach Dr. Ted Bulling.

 

Mackinnel receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Mitchell College senior midfielder Chris Mackinnel ( Branford, Conn.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Mackinnel helped the Pequots earn a 3-2 victory over Div. III Independent foe University of Maine-Presque Isle with a goal to open the second half. The team dropped a 2-1 decision to Bridgewater State to round out the week. Mackinnel leads the team in points (8), goals (3) and assists (2) as Mitchell is off to their best start in six years (3-1-2.)

 

Chambers named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chapman University senior outside hitter Christina Chambers ( West Covina, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Chambers averaged 3.78 kills per game and 4.89 digs per game in leading Chapman to a 2-1 record on the week. She totaled 34 kills and 44 digs in three matches. On the year, Chambers leads the team in kills with 111 (3.36 per game) and is second in digs with 110 (3.35 per game). The Panthers are 5-4 on the season and are coached by Mary Cahill.
