Siller named Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week

NEWBERRY, S.C. – Newbury College freshman Herrell Siller (Palo Alto, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week. For the week, Siller led the Nighthawk runners as he finished first in the Massachusetts Maritime Academy meet and the Daniel Webster College meet, his first two collegiate meets. He finished with times of 26:47 and 25:06, respectively. Siller is coached by Lee Eddy and is a culinary management major.


Hubbard named Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week

NEWBERRY, S.C. – Nebraska Wesleyan University runner Brittany Hubbard (Gering, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week. Individually, the sophomore placed 33rd at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Cross Country Invitational. Her time of 23:19 on the 6K course is the third fastest in team history and better than numerous NCAA Div. I and II athletes. In her first meet with the Prairie Wolves, she helped her team finish 10th out of more than 30 teams. Hubbard is coached by Dr. Ted Bulling.

 

Badejo receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week

NEWBERRY, S.C. – Lincoln (Pa.) University senior midfielder Oluwafemi Badejo (Lagos, Nigeria) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. For the week, Badejo scored two of Lincoln’s four goals, including the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Albright College. Badejo leads his team in goals scored with seven and has scored at least one goal in five consecutive matches. The accounting major has helped his team to a 4-2 overall record.

 

Willette receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week

NEWBERRY, S.C. – Saint Joseph’s College freshman midfielder Megan Willette (Waterville, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. In a 2-1 week, Willette scored three goals and produced two assists for a total of eight points. She had a hand in five of St. Joseph’s nine goals scored on the week. Willette, who has notched seven goals on the year, is coached by Mike Bolanz.

 

Kuure named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

NEWBERRY, S.C. – Finlandia University senior libero Michelle Kuure (Houghton, Mich.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Kuure helped her team to a 3-0 week by providing stellar defensive support. On the week, she produced 86 digs, good for a 7.17 dig/game mark, and committed just three service reception errors in 61 attempts. Kuure also tallied 17 service aces in three matches, giving her a 1.42 service ace/game average. Kuure is a sports management major and is coached by Victoria Huenink.
