Goldsmith named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior libero Erika Goldsmith (Omaha, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Goldsmith averaged 6.67 digs per set as NWU went 4-1 for the week. At the Simpson Tournament, Goldsmith had 122 digs to lead NWU to a perfect 4-0 record and the tournament championship, including a 3-1 upset over NCAA Div. III No. 4 Carthage College. Goldsmith was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 7.2 digs per set with three service aces. She now moves to 7th on the NWU Career All-Time dig charts.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009, and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
