Ticus receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of California-Santa Cruz senior forward Kira Ticus (Wilmette, Ill.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Ticus scored a pair of goals against Southwest University and added the game-winner in an overtime victory over the University of LaVerne on Sept. 27.

 

McCrory named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of California-Santa Cruz senior outside hitter Jackie McCrory (Placerville, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. McCrory had a career-high 17 kills and hit .429 against Menlo College in the Slugs’ five-set win. She went on to achieve a career-best hitting percentage against West Coast Baptist College, as she hit .583 with eight kills. On the week, McCrory hit .308 and averaged 2.9 kills/set. She added 18 digs and four blocks as the Slugs went 4-1 for the week.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on August 31, 2009, and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
