Dye named Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week NEWBERRY, S.C. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Craig Dye (Hebron, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week. For the week, Dye led the Prairie Wolves to a ninth-place finish at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamoboree, where NWU placed ahead of several NCAA Div. I teams, including Tulsa, Kansas State, Syracuse, and Wichita State. Dye placed first on the team and 34th overall in 26:30 on the 8K course in Stillwater, Okla. (Oct. 1). Dye is coached by Dr. Ted Bulling.

Yates named Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week NEWBERRY, S.C. – University of Dallas senior Elena Yates (Wilton, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week. Yates won the 6K UD Invitational in 24:30, which took place this weekend at the University of Dallas. Her first place finish led the Lady Crusaders to a tie for first place as a team. Her time of 24:30 was 1:11 faster than the second place finisher and was also a season personal best 6K time by 49 seconds. Yates is coached by Ryan Frey and has already broken two school race-length records this season.

Memming receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week NEWBERRY, S.C. – Nebraska Wesleyan University sophomore midfielder Mitchel Memming (Lincoln, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Memming scored the game-winning goal at the 75:00 mark to deal Dana College, ranked No. 3 in NAIA Region III, its first Great Plains Athletic Conference loss of the season (1-0). He also recorded a hat trick with three goals and an assist at Mt. Marty College as NWU won 6-1 and improved to 3-1-1 in the conference and went above .500 overall for the first time this season (4-3-1). Memming is coached by James Beckmann.

Taylor receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week NEWBERRY, S.C. – Meredith College freshman forward Karen Taylor (Raleigh, N.C.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Taylor scored all five Meredith goals in wins over Ferrum College (2-0) and Louisburg College (3-2). Her third goal at Louisburg proved to be the game-winner, as she netted the ball in the final minute of play. Taylor currently leads the 8-4 Angels with eight goals. She is coached by Paul Smith.

Morrill named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week
NEWBERRY, S.C. – Colorado College senior outside hitter Sarah Morrill (Davis, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. In three wins, Morrill averaged 6.08 kills per game, 3.42 digs per game, and compiled a hitting percentage of .238. For the week, she came up with 19 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 win at Lewis & Clark, set a school record with 39 kills and 19 digs in a 3-2 win at George Fox, and added 15 kills and 10 digs in a sweep at Pacific. In the Pacific match, Morrill became the fifth player in Colorado College history to reach the 1,000-kill mark. Morrill has helped her team to seven consecutive wins and is coached by Rick Swan.
