Landreneau named Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas senior Mark Landreneau (Alexandria, La.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week. Landreneau ran a 27:14 8K on his hilly home course during the Oct. 7 University of Dallas Invitational. His top finish was among 32 competitors and he led his team to a third place finish overall. Landreneau is coached by Ryan Frey.

 

Cowan receives Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas senior runner Glencora Cowan (Baton Rouge, La.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week. Cowan ran a 24:21 6K on her way to first place on her home course during the University of Dallas Invitational on Oct. 7. Her time paced the team to a second place finish at the event. Cowan is coached by Ryan Frey.

 

Parent receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Maine-Presque Isle senior forward Travis Parent (Peru, Maine) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Parent scored a pair of game-winning goals in UMPI’s two closely contested, shut-out wins over Thomas (1-0) and University of Maine-Farmington (2-0). The two NCAA Division III victories improve the Owls’ record to 5-5 on the season.

 

Boucher honored as Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Meredith College junior forward Nicole Boucher (Raleigh, N.C.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Boucher scored both of Meredith’s goals, including the game-winner, in a 2-0 victory over South Region No. 17 University of Dallas. Both goals came in the first 20 minutes of the contest. Boucher, who is coached by Paul Smith, has helped lead Meredith to their fifth consecutive shut out win of the season. With the key win, the South Region No. 7 Angels improve their record to 10-2-1 on the year.

 

Clithero named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Colorado College sophomore outside hitter Anna Clithero (West Linn, Ore.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Clithero led Colorado College to a 3-1 record at the CC Classic and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Clithero, who is coached by Rick Swan, posted four straight double-doubles, giving her nine for the season. On the week, she hit .255 with 71 kills (5.07 kills/game) and 63 digs (4.5 digs/game). In 3-1 wins over Williams College and Black Hills State, she produced 20 kills and 16 digs and 18 kills and 11 digs, respectively. She also added 17 kills and 22 digs in a 3-0 win over Moravian College. In the Tigers’ lone loss to Black Hills State in the championship match, Clithero came up with 16 kills and 14 digs in the three-set match.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 11, 2006 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
