Lunger earns second Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas junior forward Adam Lunger (Keller, Texas) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. In two victories for the 9-1-1 Crusaders, Lunger scored six goals, including the game-winner in each game. He had three goals in a victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University and two goals in a win over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In the win over SAGU, Lunger set the career goals record at UD and finished the week with 54 career goals under his belt.

McCarthy receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of California-Santa Cruz junior defender Morgan McCarthy (Brookfield, Wash.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. McCarthy scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 overtime win over Cal State East Bay and also assisted on a goal in a 6-0 victory over Dominican. McCarthy is coached by Michael Runaere.

Felger named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chapman University junior middle blocker Jill Felger (Lakewood, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Felger set a school record with 29 kills in Chapman’s five-game win over Claremont on Friday. She finished the week with 65 total kills and just eight errors in three matches, giving her a .442 hitting percentage. CU went 3-0 and extended its winning streak to five matches.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 3, 2007 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
