Dunker earns second Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Chris Dunker (Beatrice, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week for the second time this season. Dunker placed 28th out of 451 runners at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 in West Salem, Wis. His 8K time of 25:17 paced the Prairie Wolves to a 10th-place finish out of 31 competing teams. Dunker is coached by Dr. Ted Bulling.

 

Hubbard receives third Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Brittany Hubbard (Gering, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week for the third time this season. Hubbard came in 13th out of 435 runners at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 in West Salem, Wis. She completed the 6K course in 22:30, giving Nebraska Wesleyan a seventh place finish out of 28 schools. Hubbard is coached by Dr. Ted Bulling.

 

Melega receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) sophomore midfielder Kevin Melega (Easthampton, Mass.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. In a 2-2 week, Melega scored three goals, including the game-winner in a 3-2 overtime victory at Independent foe Green Mountain College. Melega also scored in regulation against Green Mountain and he provided the game-tying goal in an eventual loss at Colby College. Melega is coached by Michael Bolanz.

 

Hart honored as Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Meredith College freshman forward Maggie Hart (Mooresville, N.C.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Hart scored the first and last goals in a 4-2 win over South Region No. 7 Guilford College. She also scored a pair of goals in a 6-0 win over cross-town rival Peace College. With her four goals on the week, she raised her season total to 16. Hart has helped lead the Angels to their seventh consecutive victory of the season. Meredith, ranked sixth in the South Region, improves to 12-2-1 on the season under coach Paul Smith.

 

Foster named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman setter Kirsten Foster (Lincoln, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Foster helped the Prairie Wolves to a 4-0 record at the Molten Spike It Up Classic as she earned All-Tournament Team honors. She averaged 11.67 assists per game, 2.17 digs per game and 0.67 blocks per game on the week, including a career-high 53 assists against Colorado College. She also added 14 digs, three blocks and three kills against CC. Foster compiled 210 assists on the week, along with 39 digs, 12 blocks, 10 kills and eight service aces. Five of her blocks were solos, which paced the team. Foster leads the team in assists (626), improving
her season assists per game average to 8.35. NWU is now 11-10 on the season.
