Fichthorn earns second Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Salem College junior Rachel Fichthorn (Nokesville, Va.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week. Fichthorn won the overall individual title at the AD3I Northeast Regional Championships held in Boston, Mass., with a 5K time of 20:35, 31 seconds faster than the second place finisher. Salem placed four runners in the top six to help earn their first AD3I Regional Championship.

 

Meske earns Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas freshman midfielder/forward Ryan Meske (Niwot, Colo.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. In three recent victories for the 14-1-1 Crusaders, Meske scored three goals and added a pair of assists. In the victory over Howard Payne University, he netted a goal and produced an assist and he also added two goals in a win over Finlandia University.

 

Meike receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mills College freshman goalkeeper Emily Meike (San Diego, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Meike protected a 2-1 victory over William Jessup with 10 saves, ending her first season with the Cyclones with 131 saves in 13 games. Currently, she ranks first in the California Pacific Conference in saves per game (10.08) and is eighth in NAIA Div. I.

 

Fuentes named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week for second time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas freshman defensive specialist Kelli Fuentes (Garland, Texas) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Fuentes had 86 total digs in four matches against top-flight competition, giving her a 6.62 per game average. Her high for the week came against Carthage College when she recorded 36 digs in three games. Fuentes only committed five reception errors on the weekend and she also added four service aces.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 3, 2007 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
