Mackinnel earns Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mitchell College senior midfielder Chris Mackinnel (Branford, Conn.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Mackinnel led his team to their first ever Association of Division III Independents Championship by netting the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over St. Joseph’s College (Maine). Mackinnel was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

 

Pollack receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Green Mountain College senior forward Andrea Pollack (Arlington, Mass.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Pollack put together a pair of excellent performances in the AD3I Regional Championships. On Saturday, she scored the game-winning goal against St. Joseph’s College (Maine) to lead her team to a 1-0 victory. In the championship match, she netted the first goal of the match 47 minutes in to help her team to a 2-1 win and the regional championship. Pollack, who is coached by Jamey Ventura, was named Tournament MVP.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 11, 2006 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
