Worrall named Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week

KANSAS CITY , Mo. Saint Joseph’s College freshman Isaac Worrall ( Gorham, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s Runner of the Week. Worrall recorded an 8K time of 28:06, good for 116 th out of 250 runners at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Cross Country Championships hosted by Connecticut College in Waterford, Conn. The Monks finished 26 th as a team. Worrall is coached by Tom Dann.

 

Willis named Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week for second consecutive week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Joseph’s College sophomore Sarah Willis ( Buckland, Mass.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s Runner of the Week for the second straight week. Willis, who ran a 6K time of 23:52, finished 41 st out of 250 runners at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Cross Country Championships hosted by Connecticut College in Waterford, Conn. The Monks finished 27 th as a team. Willis is coached by Tom Dann.

 

Shah receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY , Mo. Chapman University junior midfielder Dan Shah ( Santa Ana, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Shah scored goals in back-to-back games, including the game-winner versus Cal State East Bay 6:44 into overtime on Saturday. Chapman won 1-0, posting its first shutout of the year. Shah’s other goal was Chapman’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to No. 10 UC Santa Cruz. For the season, Shah leads the team in goals (4) and points (9). The Panthers end the season at 4-12-1. Shah is coached by Eddie Carrillo.

 

Willette receives third Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Joseph’s College freshman midfielder Megan Willette ( Waterville, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week for the third time this season. Willette scored two goals and assisted on another in a 4-0 win over Green Mountain in the Div. III Independent Northeast Championship game. She also scored a goal in the Monks’ 2-0 semifinal victory over Russell Sage. Willette, who is coached by Mike Bolanz, was selected to the All-Tournament team. On the year, she has 60 points on 25 goals and 10 assists.


Novicki named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY , Mo. Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman middle blocker Katie Novicki ( Columbus, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Novicki had the best night of her young career on November 1, and nearly helped the Prairie Wolves beat regionally-ranked Doane College. She finished the game with 7 blocks (2 solo, 5 assisted) and a season/career high 22 kills with only 5 errors on 56 swings (.304). For the season, Novicki ranks second on the team in kills per game (2.58) and first in blocks per game (0.83). NWU is NCAA tournament bound for the fourth time in the last five years. Novicki is coached by Gina Chambers.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 12, 2005 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
