Myrick named Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Lincoln University ( Pa.) senior guard Kyle Myrick ( Philadelphia, Pa.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. In a 3-0 week, Myrick averaged 36.3 points per game and was named tournament MVP at the Roger Taylor Invitational after scoring 41 points (31 in the second half) and handing out seven assists in a 113-76 win over NC Wesleyan in the title game. The day before, Myrick scored 35 points and dished seven assists in a 102-92 victory over Div. II Chowan, Lincoln’s third win over a Div. II school this season. Myrick began the week with a 33-point performance in an 85-62 win over 11 th ranked Randolph-Macon. For the season, Myrick is averaging 32.1 points per contest and has scored 30 or more points in six straight games. Lincoln has won four games in a row and is 7-1. The Lions are coached by Garfield Yuille.

Whitney receives Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Colorado College sophomore forward Paige Whitney ( Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. On the week, she averaged 16.7 points per game and six rebounds per game to lead the Tigers to a 2-1 week. Whitney had 14 points and eight boards in a 78-60 victory over Div. II Colorado Christian University. She came back with a career-high 25 points and six rebounds in a 73-60 win over Cornell College at the Colorado School of Mines/Colorado College Classic. She finished the week with a team-high 11 points and four rebounds in a loss to 11 th ranked Buena Vista University. Whitney is coached by Kelly Mahlum.
