McQuillan named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Joseph’s College (N.Y.) freshman guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. In an 81-73 win over Southern Vermont, the point guard dropped 34 points and contributed five steals and a trio of both assists and rebounds. She shot .480 from the field (12-for-25) and .750 from the charity stripe (9-for-12). The Lady Bears trailed the entire game by as many as 16 until McQuillan’s 16 second-half points helped erase the deficit and pull away with four minutes to play.
