KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Vermont College senior forward Nick Harrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week. The Mountaineers went 1-1 on the week while competing at the Williams College Invitational. In their opening game against Nichols, Harrington poured in a near triple-double performance by recording 14 points, 14 rebounds and eight steals. He also added four assists and two blocks compared with zero turnovers. In the consolation game, Harrington put together a 30-30 game, as he scored 37 points and grabbed 33 rebounds in an 88-77 win over Mitchell. His 33 rebounds are a school record and the most by any collegiate player to date this season. Additionally, his single-game total is the sixth most in Div. III history since the division began in 1973. On the week, Harrington averaged 25.5 points and 23.5 rebounds per game.
