Brammier Named Association of Division III Independents

Student-Athlete of the Month for September

 

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) named volleyball outside hitter Laura Brammeier, from Nebraska Wesleyan University, Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of September.

Brammeier had an outstanding September, leading the NWU volleyball team to a 15-2 record. She averaged 3.76 kills and 3.03 digs per set in the 17 matches. She reached double figures in kills in 13 of 17 matches and had seven double-doubles. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Luther Tournament and the Wartburg Tournament, earning MVP at Wartburg. Brammeier was the AD3I Player of the Week after her Week 1 performance at the Pacific Tournament in Oregon as NWU went 4-0. She had a season-high 23 kills in win over Bethel and hit .467 with 17 kills in a win over Willamette.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of 13 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions and to provide exempted postseason championship competition in nine sports in 2010-11. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports.
