Hardwick Named Association of Division III Independents

Student-Athlete of the Month for October

 

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) named volleyball outside hitter Stephanie Hardwick (West Allis, Wis.), a sophomore from Mount Mary College, its Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October.

Hardwick tallied six double-doubles in October, including 12 matches with double-digit digs. She averaged 6.7 kills, 4.1 assists, 2.5 service aces and 17.4 digs per match and landed her first triple-double early in the month against Grace Bible College when she posted 22 assists, 12 digs and 10 service aces. Other notable performances included 13 kills, 23 digs and four service aces against Alverno College and 10 kills, 24 digs and three service aces in a win over Aurora University. Hardwick helped lead the Blue Angels to their second winning season in school history, their first coming in 2010.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of 11 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions and to provide exempted postseason championship competition in nine sports in 2011-12. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports.
