Winterstein receives Association of Division III Independents Baseball Player of the Week award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman infielder Tyler Winterstein (Omaha, Neb.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Winterstein batted .593 with 16 hits on the week as the Prairie Wolves went 6-2 on their spring break trip, winning six straight games. The freshman had a hit in all eight games and drove in eight RBI in 27 total at bats. The infielder finished the trip with at least two hits in six of the eight games. In a doubleheader sweep over Iowa Wesleyan, Winterstein was 6-for-7 with five RBI to lead Nebraska Wesleyan. The freshman now leads the team with a .434 batting average and 20 RBI.
