OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) sophomore forward Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. Megafu was the catalyst of a Bears team that went 1-1 during the week in Texas. The sophomore averaged a double-double for the week notching his second double-double of the season against the University of Dallas on Friday finishing with a team-high and season-high 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field while corralling 15 rebounds. Megafu concluded his week with a 16-point, 5-rebound effort against Austin College shooting an efficient 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from the floor as St. Joseph's evened up their record on the year at 2-2. For the week, the forward stuffed the stat sheet averaging 17.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, 2.0 blocks per game, 1.5 steals per game and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from the field over the two-game stretch.
