O’Neill receives Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) junior guard Matt O'Neill (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. O'Neill helped the Bears to a third-place finish at the Connecticut College/Coast Guard Invitational Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team recording his second 20-point game of the season, going 4-for-4 from behind the arc and dishing out a career-high eight assists in the consolation win. Over the three-game week for St. Joseph's, O'Neill averaged 16.3 points per game, shot 42.1 percent (8-for-19) from three-point land and also added 5.3 steals, 4.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
