Giesselmann receives Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Week award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior forward Travis Giesselmann (Elkhorn, Neb.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. The senior put up his best game of the season in the Prairie Wolves only game of the week, scoring a season-high 36 points while pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds in an overtime loss to NAIA Division II 12th-ranked Briar Cliff. Giesselmann shot an impressive 13-of-24 (54.2 percent) from the field and went 5-of-9 from downtown. The forward tallied 27 points in the second half and overtime and added five assists. The senior takes home Player of the Week honors for the first time this season and is second in the Association with 27.1 points per game.
