OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents named Finlandia University men's soccer forward Alex Freeman its Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month October.
Freeman, a sophomore from Inverness, Illinois, earns the honor for the second straight month after scoring seven goals, three of which were game winners for the Lions. The forward also added three assists to end the month with 17 points. The highlight of the sophomore's month came on October 4th against Robert Morris-Springfield when he recorded three goals on four shots on goal to give Finlandia one of their six wins during the month. Freeman concluded the year ranking in the top five nationally for total goals, shots per game and shots on goal per game and leads the Association with 19 goals and 41 points on the year.
