Rossi anointed Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) freshman outfielder Samantha Rossi (Bayside, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Rossi provided the power to the Lady Bears lineup this week, hitting .333 (8-for-24) with three doubles and a home run. The freshman knocked in a team-high-tying eight runs and scored five runs of her own, helping lead St. Joseph's to a 4-3 week. The outfielder had a consistent showing on the week, recording three multi-hit games, including a career day at York College on Wednesday as she went 3-for-7 with her first career homer, five RBI and two runs scored. Rossi concluded the week with a .583 slugging percentage and now leads the team with 14 RBI on the season.
