OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – SUNY Canton junior Stefanie Miller (Latham, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week. Miller hit a remarkable .667 (14-for-21) with two home runs, 11 runs, 14 RBI, a .708 on-base percentage and 1.095 slugging percentage in a 5-2 week for the Roos. The junior opened the week going 4-for-5 with three runs, three walks and drove in six runs with a pair of three-run homers in a 15-5 win in the nightcap as Canton split a doubleheader with Wells. She went 1-for-2 with a double in a loss versus St. Lawrence (20-9). Miller hit 9-for-14 with eight runs and drove in eight more in a 4-0 weekend versus SUNY Delhi on Saturday and Sunday to improve the Roos to 19-11 on the season. The wins are the most in the NCAA Division III era for SUNY Canton and with two more victories the team will set a new program record breaking the 1998 team's record of 20-6.
