OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle freshman Gabryella Hay (Little River Academy, Texas) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents softball Student-Athlete of the Month for March. Hay batted .389 (14-for-36) with 13 runs, four home runs and 11 RBI. The freshman also went 3-3 in the circle with a 4.24 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 38.0 innings pitched. Hay batted 3-for-6 with two RBI and run scored in the Blue Angels sweep of Maine-Presque Isle, while also earning the win in game two with one earned run allowed in seven innings. The freshman went on to go 5-for-7 with three home runs, five RBI and four runs in New Rochelle's split with Bay Path on March 18th. Hay capped off the month by going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in game two of the Blue Angels' sweep of Valley Forge. The two-time Player of the Week also tossed five scoreless innings with one hit allowed and 12 strikeouts in the game two win over Valley Forge.
