OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle sophomore center Jasmine Brandon (Jersey City, N.J.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Brandon posted another strong offensive week in helping lead The College of New Rochelle to a pair of non-conference victories. The sophomore increased her scoring and rebounding outputs in each of the team's three games, concluding with a record-breaking performance in the Blue Angels' overtime victory at Albertus Magnus College, the Blue Angels first ever win over the Falcons. Against Albertus Magnus, the center broke her own school record, pouring in 47 points, with 32 coming in the second half and overtime. Brandon added a game-high 17 rebounds to raise her double-double total to nine on the season. Her scoring total, the most for a NCAA Division III player this season, is her third 40-plus scoring day for the 2013-14 campaign. The four-time Player of the Week averaged 25.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per contest for the week.
