Morningside College, ranked 10th in the NAIA II Top 25 poll, jumped out to a 30 point halftime lead and breezed to a 102-59 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in GPAC women's basketball action Saturday afternoon (Feb. 1) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.
The Mustangs (18-5, 9-4 GPAC) forced the Prairie Wolves into 20 first half turnovers with their full court pressure defense and held NWU to just 29.2 percent shooting.
Morningside remained hot from the field in the second half and shot 56.7 percent for the game. A total of 15 players scored for the Mustangs with just three players reaching double figures. Leann Osten led the way with 21 points on 10-13 shooting.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished the game shooting 31.6 percent from the floor and had 29 turnovers.
Courtney Cook scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead NWU. Bridget Bucher added 14 points.
